Why didn’t my colour come out like I wanted (demanded)?
Whether the artwork is a Pantone spot colour or a colour made of cyan, magenta, yellow and black – there are a few methods in getting colour to print the way it is demanded. The colour makes it a file are not always represented perfectly on a computer, or device monitor, because all monitors are calibrated uniquely. The colour makes in your file might be set up to print CMYK (4-colour method), even though you needed to print a specific Pantone colour. There are some colours printed in CMYK (4-colour method) that have the tendency to shift slightly when printed, blues and reds tend to shift more than yellows, greens or browns; unless, we have a particular Pantone colour that we are aiming to print. The more particular on what type of colour make you need for a custom sticker design, the more correct the printing will be.
Can you print a label for a beer bottle?
Completely. In fact, we have some really cool can and bottle label items. Brewers love utilising our stickers for their growlers and different types of product management. There’s nothing like getting your branding accurate on a label that travels far and wide.
Your quote says 4-color process but my design has 8 colours. Does that mean you won’t print some of the colours in my design? Which ones?
The 4-colour method does print with only 4 inks, however, the way that the patterns are built with those 4-colours allows us to print just about every colour available, and should see just like a full-colour image, so all of the colours in your design will print.
How many colours can I have in my design?
The maximum number of colours that we can print depends on the type of stock we’re printing. There are limitations on the number of colours if we’re printing spot colours. However, the maximum number of visible colours that we can print with our full-colour method is fairly unlimited. The patterns of the 4-colour process allow us to print just about every colour available.
Is a 1/8 inch margin and inset important? Is there any wiggle room?
After a lot of sticker printing, we’ve decided that having the 1/8″ margin is a standard we can support not having anything cut off of your picture. There is a small bounce of the material through the press & cutting tools and we’re confident in the 1/8″ margin. If we wiggle any with that margin, we’re not able to support your image will not get cut off.
“Spot” colours versus Method colours, what’s the difference?
Spot colours are pre-mixed inks and only apply one ink fountain. Method colours are four ink colours (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), which are printed commonly on one sheet in a distinct pattern that allows the eye to see thousands of shades of colours. There are quality and price advantages to utilising method colours and utilising spot colours, depending on the job.
Should my print files be sent in CMYK or RGB mode?
All print data should be in CMYK mode as this is the mode needed for the printing method. If we receive data in RGB mode, we’ll require to convert them to CMYK, which may shift the colours some.
